For a couple’s destination wedding in Australia, we were tasked with creating an invitation design that felt elegant and inspired by Australia and the beach. We designed a unique invitation that combined watercolor painting, foil stamping, letterpress printing and laser cutting in a way that was fresh and fun. The suite features many details that are native to Australia such as gumnut branches, kangaroos, koalas and kookaburra birds to a hand painted map of Australia.
Since we are a studio specializing in custom work, we put together custom pricing for each project. For your convenience, below is a brief summary of the starting prices for both our collection and custom suites:
• $2,000 is the starting price for pre-existing designs for a 4-piece suite in 1-letterpress color. Suites with additional embellishments such as foil stamping, laser cut sleeves, pocket folders, etc. start at a higher price point of $3,000 and up.
• Custom invitations start at $2,750 for a 4-piece suite in 1-letterpress color.
• For budgets in the $1,000 range, many of our designs can be adapted to a economical price point using flat printing.
Note: A 4-piece suite includes Invitation, Reply Card, Outer Envelope and Reply Envelope. However a suite can be customized to your needs. Most pre-existing designs you see, whether it be from our custom page or collection page, can be made into a ready to order set

Design Exploratory
We explored a few different laser cut sleeve and invitation back configurations with the idea of gumnut branches (which are a variety of eucalyptus found in Australia) framing the invitation within the sleeve. From watercolor splashes to ornate champagne gold foil accents, these different options helped us hone into the right look and feel for the suite.
Monogram
The couple loved the look of a crest that incorporated native Australian elements. So we wove in Kookaburra birds, gumnut and Waratah flowers together with a classic shield shape and rendered it in a combination of watercolor and gold foil.
Design Refinement
Once the look and feel were defined, we embarked on the process of extending the design to all the pieces in the invitation suite. We wanted to the suite to feel coordinated as a whole without being too “matchy matchy” so each item, from reply card to envelopes has different design elements that work harmoniously with the overall design aesthetic.
Illustration
We hand illustrated elements such as a map of Australia with locations that were meaningful tot he couple as well as other paintings and drawings throughout the suite. The illustrations were all rendered in vivid watercolor paints
Design Extension
Once the look and feel were defined, we embarked on the process of extending the design to all the pieces in the invitation suite and beyond. From the envelopes all the way up to the place cards, menus and more, we designed each piece to be exciting, vibrant and enticing.
Travel Booklet
One of the centerpieces of the invitation suite was a small travel booklet that we designed for guests to bring with them to the wedding. The booklet included the schedule of events as well as important travel information and details.
Final Design
At the end of the creative process, after all edits and refinements are made, the full suite comes to life in the hands of our expert team of printers and craftsmen.
